A wonderful book about a fascinating man and the racing industry.

I don't know much about horse racing, but could not put this book down. Henry Cecil was probably the best trainer of flat racers ever. He really knew horses, better than they knew themselves. The book is written by and expert showing Cecil warts and all, but with great affection. Alas, 3 months after this was sent to the publishers, Henry Cecil died after a long battle with cancer. All over England, and especially at Royal Ascot, a minute of silence was held for this great man. I think that says it all about what the thousands of race goers, horse owners, fellow trainers, jockeys, and The Queen whose horses he trained thought of him.

Beautifully written account of one of the most intriguing characters in recent racing history. Obviously a complex character who grew up in a complex time but matured into one of the most loved and most brilliant trainers ever to grace the sport. And grace it he did.

Absolutely Loved it!!!

I absolutely loved Disturbed, the first book in this series, and I am so happy to say that book 2 was just as good. What I loved about both books was how the unique and engaging the storyline is. The story picks up where it left off, with Clarissa still missing and Roman out looking for her, and the readers are taken to a dark, depraved world as the story moves to Mexico’s underground. The characters in this story are so intriguing, even the villains, and I loved seeing them interact with each other. I loved Liv even more after this book. She was not quite as na�ve as she was in the first book, after having such a major reality check when it came to Blaise. I felt that she had no choice but to grow up quickly to adapt to what was happening to her, and she handled her circumstances with surprising strength. As for Roman, I loved him in the first book and even more now. I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen in their relationship as the series continues. This book was so unique, well-written and captivating, and I loved it from start to finish. I read the entire thing in one sitting because I couldn’t wait to see how things were going to play out. I am looking forward to reading more from this fantastic series!!

OUTSTANDING READ!

Outstanding book!
I received as an ARC. I love the book and purchased my copy for kindle as well. It follows insequence with Disturbed. if you havent read the first book its a must before reading this one. Im not going to post spoilers but please give these books a read. They are on the "darker"side and for 18+ readers. Some may not agree with the scenarios that occur, but you must understand these happen in everyday life. I had someone close to me this happened to similarly so i guess thats why i loved the books.

This book really had me hooked, I could not put it down. This book is on the dark side, please read warnings. It was full of suspense and had me on the edge of my seat through the whole book. I have read all of this authors books and have enjoyed them all. This is definitely worth reading. I was given an ARC for a fair and honest review.

Exceptional and Unique, One of the Few Books Offering Accessible Feminine Tantra Teachings

This is a very unique book, offering spiritual teachings and techniques related to the feminine womb energy center, corresponding to the 2nd/sacral chakra in many chakra mappings. These teachings are drawn from traditional Tantra teachings - there are Tantra teachings in both Tibetan Buddhist and Hindu yogic traditions. However, in this book they are offered directly to the reader, outside of a lineage or initiation hierarchy, as they would normally be as taught in those traditions. I have studied these traditions, and as far as I know, this is the first book to offer these teachings in this depth in a book such as this. The author felt that it was time for this material to be made available, and that doing so is part of a larger spiritual shift going on in the world (which personally I agree with.)

The teachings draw on chakra meditation, mantra and visualization work, other inner energy work, and sacred sexuality. Many of the latter teachings are meant to be practiced with a sexual partner, but there is also plenty of material here that does not require that. Although above I said this work is accessible, I meant compared to the traditional Tantric yogic and Buddhist texts I have read, which are highly symbolic and hard to follow without formal instruction. I think this book would still be a bit tough for someone to follow who had never been exposed to any energy work or mappings at all, i.e. chakras, mantra work, etc.

The philosophical framework and language of this book would probably be classified 'new age', so that may not appeal to some people. But I highly recommend getting over that, because I think this book has a lot to offer, and has a powerful empowerment behind it too.

For those interesting in chakras, energy work of any type, and/or feminine spirituality, I highly recommend!

Each and every book Padma has wrote and I have read this far, has been EXACTLY what I was waiting to read and learn. Compact book with Clear Guidelines for Any Math Teacher

Don't let the short length of the book fool you! Teach Math Like this, Not Like That, is a concise guide to math teachers on four critical areas (planning, pedagogy, assessment and relationships) of instruction. Preservice and new teachers can use the book to guide them as they tackle their first years of teaching. Veteran teachers will be pushed to rethink views on homework and assessment (some of my favorite parts of the book). PD providers can use classroom snapshots from the Not Like This/Like That to engage teachers in discussion and reflection.

What a fabulous summer read for any teacher. It's one of those books that you can read in no time, but have post-its and highlights galore! So many things for me to think about. Makes me rethink how I teach and where I need to improve. Excellent book to use for a book study for teachers. I will bring it to my principal as a suggestion for PLC time. Dr. Beyranevand is a great writer and a strong advocate for a better math education. Can't wait to see what he comes out with next!

As a math teacher of five years, I really enjoyed reading this book. Many of the ideas I already use and it was nice to affirm them but I picked up 8-10 new ideas that I will try in the fall. I really liked the ideas around assessment as it really made me think. This is a fun easy read and feel like the author is an excellent teacher.

Very detailed, used to understand architect specs for an upcoming project that does not yet have industry established standards. I am not an architect myself, so it was helpful to understand what one might be looking for in designing a new type of space saving system.
