About the Author
Dick Martin writes about public relations and marketing. He has authored four books for the American Management Association and articles for such publications as the Harvard Business Review, Chief Executive, and the Journal of Business Strategy. He also conducts popular workshops on public relations ethics. From 1997 to 2003, he was Chairman of the AT&T Foundation and executive vice president responsible for the company's public relations, employee communications and brand management.

Donald K. Wright is the Harold Burson Professor of Public Relations at Boston University and has been studying and writing about communication ethics for 40 years. A former practitioner in corporate, agency and pro sports public relations, he has a PhD from the University of Minnesota, is a past president of the International Public Relations Association, serves on the Board of Trustees of the Institute for Public Relations, and is a former trustee of the Arthur W. Page Society.

About the Author

Alex Alvarez, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Northern Arizona University. From 2001 until 2003 he was the founding Director of the Martin-Springer Institute for Teaching the Holocaust, Tolerance, and Humanitarian Values. His first book, Governments, Citizens, and Genocide, was published by Indiana University Press in 2001. His other books include Murder American Style (2002), Genocidal Crimes (2009), and Native America and the Question of Genocide (2014). He has also served as an editor for the journal Violence and Victims, was a founding co-editor of the journal Genocide Studies and Prevention, was a co-editor of the H-Genocide List Serve. He has been invited to speak and present his research in various countries such as Austria, Bosnia, Canada, England, Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, and Sweden.

Ronet Bachman, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at the University of Delaware. She is coauthor of Statistical Methods for Crime and Criminal Justice (3rd ed.) and coeditor of Explaining Crime and Criminology: Essays in Contemporary Criminal Theory. In addition, she is author of Death and Violence on the Reservation and coauthor of Stress, Culture, and Aggression in the United States; and Violence: The Enduring Problem as well as numerous articles and papers that examine the epidemiology and etiology of violence, with a particular emphasis on women, the elderly, and minority populations. Her most recent federally funded research was a mixed-methods study that investigated the long-term trajectories of offending behavior using official data of a prison cohort released in the early 1990s and then interviewed in 2009.

Please note this is the same novel as "The knock off" . It was renamed before publishing.

I never get why I love these books. My idea of fashion is whatever I pull out of the wardrobe first but I still cant get enough of stories like these.

Imogen is Editor in chief of Glossy, a high end fashion magazine located in the heart of NYC.

Due to an illness Imogen had no choice but to take a break from work. She returns to the office after her recovery to find everything has changed. Most of her old team have gone and in their place is her old assistant eve. However eve is not the meek little assistant she remembered. Shes now a Harvard graduate intent on dragging glossy in to the digital age and its up to Imogen to adapt or die.

I think Eve really made this novel. She's a complete sociopath who makes her workers sleep at the office and go to spin classes with her. If they so much as look crooked at her she fires them. She really is a character you'd love it hate.

Despite all the upheaval at the office Imogen is determined to catch up. She is loyal to a fault. No matter what eve threw at her she just smiled and walked away. I mean she's the editor in chief. Isn't she like the final boss!??

There were times I wished she would go all Miranda Priestly on her!

An absolutely accurate viewpoint on the generational issues that are changing the workplace. Disruptive is sometimes destructive. Finding the balance is key. Aside from the important message that this story brings, it was an absolute joy to read.... I couldn't put it down!

I loved every minute of Techbitch and would recommend it to fellow fortysomething journalists, editors and publishers who acknowledge digital change in our industry but will forever love print too. Mums especially. It was fun to read something frothy while working on some serious content at work, and why not, we all need to relax with some trash now and then. This was chick lit with a message, too. It made me feel good.

The classic and definitive self-help guide for women survivors of sexual abuse, The Courage To Heal is a tool for recovery that works. This is also the book often cited by those who challenge the credibility of incest survivors. Some survivors of childhood abuse recover memories of these traumatic early experiences years after the original events, and it is these recovered memories that are said to be false memories, implanted in the allegedly impressionable minds of survivors. I was curious to see how this revised and expanded third edition would differ from the much maligned first. In addition to an Afterword that carefully analyzes and refutes the false memory syndrome argument, the authors have made revisions throughout the book which offer guidelines for assessing confusing memories. The authors' commitment to survivors is clear throughout the book, beginning with the book's endorsements, which come not from therapists, but from anonymous survivors. Dina Prialnik is a Professor of Planetary Physics at Tel Aviv University. Her research interests lie in stellar evolution; the structure and evolution of cataclysmic variables, comet nuclei and other small Solar System bodies; and the evolution of planets.

I find that the material doesn't have a lot of context, so I found it hard to actually understand the physical meaning behind the processes that are described. Confusing diagrams too...

good undergrad text

This book is written explicitly for undergraduates, but is certainly a good reference for the graduate student getting started in astronomy/astrophysics with no previous experience. The chapters flow together very well and the information is presented in a clear and concise manner. The problems in each chapter connect points from previous chapters to the new material the current chapter. Solutions to the problems are located in the appendix; while this may be good when you get stuck, I can imagine some students utilizing it too regularly and not learning the material.
