About the Author
Colin Jarman is a sailor, a writer and a photographer. He has sailed for 40 years and is the author of nine books on various aspects of sailing and seamanship, of which two on ropes and ropeworking have been top sellers. He has been a staff writer on Motor Boat and Yachting magazine and was Features Editor on Yachting Monthly before freelancing for the world's major boating magazines. He helped to launch and still writes for the only online sailing magazine, Sailing Now.

In the beginning of the book it gives you info on material-types of rope strengths
Overall I am very happy with this purchase... my husband was thrilled to have received this and our kiddo (11yrs old) will also be using this book with us.

Very Good Knot Book! Love it!!!!!!

Really love the layout and detail of this book.
Like others have said, the spiral binding makes this a lot easier to use.
I tired a couple of other online knot references.... never could get the Figure 8 knot down. This one made it so easy that I got it on the first Try!
That doesn't mean I'm not struggling with some of the others, but that's just because I'm a beginner at this I think
Love it!!!!
